thoughts: Babyface took three years to release this album and it was pretty decent. After a few “best of” albums it was nice to hear Babyface return to the scene with some new material. Babyface works best with “relationships gone wrong” and “baby-making” music. “What If” explores the imagined possibilities that a guy goes through when discovering that the woman he let go has a new life and family to occupy her time.
