Album: Transition

Artist(s): Ryan Leslie

Official Drop Date: November 3, 2009

Blades: 9

Review: Where has this man been all this time? A newcomer to the scene, Leslie has done the damn thing. where most newbies fail, this artist has been able to not only hold his own but be successful in releasing an album with substance and lasting power.

Transition brings forth much of what R&B should be. What most would classify as urban hip hop or neo-soul, is what these weak RnB artists should strive for. Most of the songs were on point and I never fast-forwarded through a title. Sad, but this has become a criteria for most of the weak mess out on the market now a days.

If only the industry marketed this singer better, there would be no stopping him. I saw him on the Soul Train Awards and felt his live performance could have been stronger. This will not be held against him as most of the performances on awards shows come out as garbage.

This album gets a strong 9 as I hope for more grade A work from Leslie. Only time will tell if this will be the only album on my listening list.
