Synopsis: All year the half-bloods have been preparing for battle against the Titans, knowing the odds of a victory are grim. Kronos’s army is stronger than ever, and with every god and half-blood he recruits, the evil Titan’s power only grows.

While the Olympians struggle to contain the rampaging monster Typhon, Kronos begins his advance on New York City, where Mount Olympus stands virtually unguarded. Now it’s up to Percy Jackson and an army of young demigods to stop the Lord of Time.

In this momentous final book in the New York Times best-selling series, the long-awaited prophecy surrounding Percy’s sixteenth birthday unfolds. And as the battle for Western civilization rages on the streets of Manhattan, Percy faces a terrifying suspicion that he may be fighting against his own fate.

Review: I am torn on my feelings of this last edition in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series as I am thrilled to be almost done with it all and I regret having to read anything to do with this kid. Another battle to save gods who do nothing to save themselves for the most part. So much drama, self-pity and self-preservation going on it makes me laugh that the myths would have these gods believe themselves to be something better than mere mortals. For spiritual beings they have much of the mortal pitfalls and even speak about being paid to be gods. WTF? The jokes keep coming in this last book.

Percy and his clan of friends prepare and go into what may be their final battle. In the last book we saw as Kronos, the titan of time, entered Luke’s body and took another step towards destroying his family which are gods and titans. Rachel turns out to be the next Oracle which explains why she could do so much besides simply seeing past the mist. Every mystical creature you could think of decided to show up and make this a party to remember.

After Percy takes a plunge that makes him almost invincible he realizes why Luke has been so difficult to overcome in the last few battles. more sacrifices are performed and Luke is a major one. He commits suicide to stop Kronos from using his body to destroy everyone and is revealed as the hero in the prophecy that everyone was so scared of. As a reward, the gods come together (finally) and give recognition to people who saved them existence and their Olympus. Tyson was made a general of the Cyclops army, Grover was placed on the Council of Cloven Elders and became the new Lord of the Wild, Annabeth was able to rebuild Olympus since is was in ruins from the war, and Percy was granted a wish that was pathetic and I’ll tell you why.

Percy wished that the gods would recognize their children – all of them. All the children that they made and left wandering the world wondering who their parents were. This is some Maury Povich bull as the gods had to be told to claim their offsprings. The rejection or lack of recognition was the reason many of the demigods had for turning on the gods to begin with. “Everything wants to be loved” seems to be the theme of this book. I say “and?” It took this kid to tell old golds, ones who are all knowing but cannot “interfere” with human/demigod choices; yet they knock up mortals or get knocked up by mortals or other creatures and leave a bunch of abandoned children. Nice. Unfortunately Percy lives I just hope another book doesn’t get made. Percy and Annabeth finally make out and Annabeth pulls her head out of her ass when she realizes that Rachel is the new Oracle. I’m just glad to be done with this series turned to crap. it had a good start but went to the toilets real soon. The Harry Potter similarities are crazy, but Percy seems dumber that Harry and that drove me up the walls. 2 blades for a suck ass ending.
