Review: Nina Simone is one of those artists whose master pieces are distinguishable and untouchable. Like legends such as Michael Jackson, Simone is irreplaceable and was a genius. Her music has been used in films, musicals, television, ballet performances, and has been the inspiration for fellow musicians.
Some stand out tunes from her Anthology were “Four Girls,” “Mississippi Goddamn,” “Strange Fruit,” “Sinner Man,” “Just Like A Woman,” “Revolution,” and “To Love Somebody;” just to name a few.
10 baldes and an A+ for a work of art set to music and a musician whose creativity and honesty will be missed but never forgotten.
