J.K. Rowling won the right to copyright-block a fan from publishing an encyclopedia based on her Potter dynasty. The fan actually was ready, along with a web operator, to sell the book when Rowling put a kibosh on the venture. Rowling and Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. were awarded $6, 750 in statutory damages, according to amNY.

Bound By Substance: Dead Wrong

The boys of Queens are back and they brought the fire with them. The new EP, Dead Wrong is hard hitting and kicking ass from beginning to end. Wail got me energized and got me amped for the whole day. Made me want to lock someone in a basement and play this song. Similar to a flashback from Saw I when the doc woke up next to a body in some dimly lit room. Just very energizing. Hot!!

We at The Bootlegger’s Chronicles heard rumors of this new book but now quotes are being given. Faith Evans, Christopher “Biggie (B.I.G.) Smalls” Wallace’s widow and mother of his child, Christopher Wallace, Jr., has written a brand new autobiography. I’m sure this is just a small part of the book, however, it will be a large reason why the book gets sold.

The Heartbreak Kid

The Farrelly Brothers are back with another romantic comedy and they've brought Ben Stiller with them. This seems like another fan-favorite for the There's Something About Mary crowd. This time Ben's working with his father Jerry Stiller.

Chaka Khan: Funk This

Dang it's good to see a legend back on the scene and bringing the ruckus with her. Ms. Khan has arrived and she's brought a new bag of tricks to entertain us. She's brought her amazing voice back to the masses and we are honored.

With a good mix of rocked out tunes to smooth ballads she has been known for Funk This reintroduces Chaka to a whole new audience and folks to work with. Mary J. has even added her voice to Disrespectful, a very rocked out R&B jam that brings both ladies to a great level of music.

Amy Winehouse: Back To Black

Two words: Mental Patient.

This chick is fabulously insane. The Rehab joint alone had me listening 12 times before I realized she was serious. Then the video came out and the press stories hit, shit was incredible and the best publicity any import artists could hope for.

The record label did want her in rehab. She's adding to the wow factor of Eminem and a few others. She's got you wondering how she got a deal before the rehab request. Also, what did she do to earn the request.

Lawd now he's back with more affirmations: I'm richer bitch, Ya'll gonna love me, Potential to be the first Black President?? Oh no, then I know there's a fix at the polls.

Well, it must be a drugged induced album because I'm actually feeling the music on this thing. It's not because of his rapping skills but simply the music. Don't get me wrong, the mess he spits about on the tracks is hysterical. I had to keep doing research on it to make sure this wasn't supposed to be a comedy album. Alas it wasn't and I'm sure it'll be in the Grammy line-up for the next round.

Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning

Some movies that are worth watching would have to be Ginger Snaps: The Trilogy. This is going to focus on the last part of the trilogy. This movie starts us with ancestors of the Fitzgerald sisters who are very close. They trust no one but each other and find themselves taking refuge in a enclosed Canadian town in the 19th century.

Amy Winehouse: Frank

This British chick is all into Frank and letting him know the isses between them. When I first saw this disc I was wondering who was this new comer trying to sneak into the industry all under the radar and all.

Well she's Amy Whinehouse and she's no joke. I guess Frank really messed it up for the next man because she's tight.

Grease

"You're the one that I want!" This is a film from the past. Why review it now? They re-released it but this time on DVD! They did their thing! I couldn't leave this to just any Bootlegger Street Vendor so I had to go to the big Kahoona! 125th's Leroy! This film had to grow on me because I wasn't into John Travolta singing and leaping across the screen at first. However, it wasn't half bad! Leroy took things to another level! He located a few extra DVDs simply sitting outside of Circuit City and thought, why not share with people he knew and loved!? No harm.. right??

The Game Plan

Disney seems to have brought back a little magic to an old story. Arrogant adult meets cute kid and softens up then change their lives forever. This time they've recruited Duane "The Rock" Johnson. Most would not have thought this ex-wrestler could make it in the movie business but not only has he made it; his star is shinning brightly. He's come further than most wrestlers in the movie arena. Many sport professionals can learn from Johnson.

Angie Martinez: Animal House

Where do we begin????? At least she wised up & FIRED her last trackmaster!!! This was actually a decent CD. I still see a radio personality, but she held her own -- up to a point.

Why the voicemail message?!!?? Readers, if anyone out there can tell me, don't hesitate! Name of tracks are sketchy but that's ok because I will be doing a special edition where her last CD is compared to this one & we can visit the IMPROVEMENTS!!!!!!!

Eminem: The Eminem Show

This White Boy has done it again! As soon as I heard that the next LP would drop I waited & made appointments with my Bootleg Connections all over the Tri-State Area. yes people, this is not a game, I have connections

The video peaked my interest even more so sorry for the late review on him, but you should have gotten your copy already.

Anyway, Without Me is hilarious, as many of you might already expect. Again, for the haters, this is not the time, move on to the next review.

Brown Sugar

Was a romantic comedy that was the same formula of longtime friends who realize that they are in love with each other but are already deeply involved with someone else. So they risk expressing their true feelings so that the other love in their lives won't get hurt but in the end they still do. Everyone pretty much jumped on two different side of the fence when it came to this flick and I actually have to stay in the middle of the lawn.

Beauty and the Beast (re-released)

This Disney favorite was re-released with an added scene and song. The changes in the movie that stuck out was that they changed a lot of the colors and made some more intense. The film was still a good choice for the Holidays and had me singing along.

India Arie: Voyage To India

Break out the incense, Indian rug, & scented candles people because the amazing 'Princess of Soul' is back with her Sophomore Album. This girl starts off the bat stringing her guitar & gets you back into the relaxed state that she left you in.

A Chronicle Legend: Michael Jackson: Anthology: 2 Disc

Man, I had to take it BACK! BACK to when Michael was BLACK... BACK to when Mr. Jackson could be traced BACK to AFRICA... BACK to when he owned an AFRO-COMB (With the FIST!) BACK to when Mike talked about & sang to GIRLS... I'm taking it BACK!!!

Training Day (late entry)

This is late! I know! I had to watch this more than once so that I may get the film situated. "I run this, you just live here!" This line and scene will just go down in movie history for me.

Thank goodness they were bright enough to go with Mr. Denzel Washington on this one! I just can't see anyone else portraying this crooked cop other than Mr. Washington! To imagine that all of this takes place in ONE DAY! Hot! Washington and Hawk were great when it came to getting down and dirty. The naïve newcomer and the seasoned vet!

All I can say is that this is a DVD Collection addition!! Gets
