Review: Is there a competition to see who could waste the consumers’ time and money in the most creative ways? I’m not surprised that there’s a silence on Kid Cudi’s latest project. Besides being poured into a backseat of a SUV, perhaps he should have been alert somewhere writing better material. I see he recruited Mary J. Blige to help out – that wasn’t necessary. She could have been used elsewhere and in a more productive manner. This is an album that I could have done without. At first I thought that maybe, just maybe I’d get excited about Cudi. By track three I began to question myself. Some lyrics were decent, stories were ok, but overall my time could have been spent watching Gigli, practicing the Diddy airplane dance, or stabbing myself… something productive.

Cudi is pretty much a clone of Kanye West in the sense that these two Negros are mixing up good music, but then fall short in entertaining me without actually being seen. I cannot count on them to produce tracks that I can enjoy straight through & completely. If this is what Hip Hop/Rap has become I officially resign as a listener. Aside from some of the music, I did not connect with this album in the slightest. 3 blades and a WTF? for a project that was lacking enjoyment. If I wanted an instrumental I would have purchased one.
