This month will be shared by two women who cannot be considered attractive yet they have been thrusted into the spotlight like trolls on a porn set. Let’s begin with Lady Gaga. When she first appeared on our radars it was at a New Kids on the Block concert at Madison Square Garden in New York. We had never seen her before nor have we heard an entire song of hers, simply snippets.
She was strange and gave the audience techno/weirdo flare. It was entertaining. Since then she has blown up to the point where she is speaking to government panels about gays in the military.
This is hype beyond hype but she does what she’s always been known to do – be over the top. I have not seen anyone coast through the industry on one album like this since Toni Braxton’s self-titled debut album. From questions about her/his sex to questions of her talent; Gaga has made some gag and others cheer for the contributions she’s made to the entertainment world. While her music is not the best, Gaga has undoubtedly given the industry one wild ride.
Katy Perry is another hype of the moment that simply boggles our minds. While the industry attempts to convince us to spend even a mere $10 on this chick, we fail to fully understand why. They have pushed her out there as a sex symbol and that should be a crime. Her music has no appeal to us and now we heard that parents were in an uproar that she wore something ‘inappropriate’ while singing with a puppet. I would ask Elmo if she attempted to molest him – that’s where the real story lies.
As Perry made attempts to interrupt Lady Gaga’s moment in the spotlight, she attacked Gaga’s “Alejandro” video stating that Gaga used the “cheap” way to garner attention. Sex, religion, and Nazis simply were uncalled for according to Perry as she said that Gaga used “blasphemy as entertainment.” Yet Perry found it perfectly fine to use sexuality to get to the top in the first place as she made out with women to catch the attention of me and the gay community. It didn’t hurt that the media pumped her drivel on television day and night asking about which way she swung either. Then she failed to remember that she used sex again when she performed in her video “California Gurls.” I’ve yet to see Perry sing about abstinence as she promotes homosexuality. Since her Jesus album (Katy Hudson) failed to “bless” her with the attention she seems to have gladly accepted Satan’s deal on the mountain top.
Perry used the Internet channels to blast Gaga and compare her “Alejandro” video to comedians telling fart jokes, yet Perry is married to one of the cheesiest, corniest “comedians” (for a lack of a better word) the industry has seen to date. Allegedly Perry and her other half love to tell fart jokes in addition to contradicting themselves (mainly Perry) in all that they do. Talk about a fucking hypocrite. It’s one thing to give an opinion. However, it’s another to do the EXACT same shit and then shit on someone else for doing what you do. WTF? Perry is clearly upset that Gaga has been coasting from the success of her two albums and was able to gain more attention than Perry could with two lukewarm albums and one non-performing album. Seemingly, Perry has since attempted to backtrack with the help of her man on her comments regarding Gaga. Perry’s bullshit career has also made her hype of the moment.

Kicking off this new segment for Bootlegged Reviews is the song Ah, Yeah! submitted by the indie artist, Flawless. This pop/dance single that has what it takes to get a party started and has a professional feel that many Indie projects lack. Coming from Queens, New York, Flawless shines on this track. 2010 has been another year where the WOS Celebs have stepped their game up in the category of bullshit, hot mess, and sloppiness. Yesterday, two WOS young bloods were in battled in another Internet War of Words. Twitter has become the "safe zone" to attack folks behind a computer and have the fans directly involved. Instant bullshit brought to everyone's and anyone's computer screens - whether asked for it or not.
