Album: Rebirth
Artist(s): Jennifer Lopez
Official Drop Date: March 1, 2005
Blades: 1
Grade: WTF?
Bottom-line: Why do we keep going?
Review: Let’s hope that after four years this won’t be a rebirth of a hot mess. The album begins with what we all have been getting pounded with – Get Right. I for one am not into a song that has another annoying sound effect past J Lo’s voice. The siren type noise isn’t helping but I realize they might be trying to drown out the sound of her. This is the first album since she’s been back with Mr. Marc Anthony. His daughter makes an appearance on this single and let’s just say we’ll stick to reviewing Mrs. Anthony. The beat is infectious, I’ll give her that, but the song is very repetitive. Nothing much is being said on this one. I guess that’s what a party song is supposed to be about?
If that’s the case then Step Into My World will fit right in. Actually it’s got a story, I’m just not interested. It sounds like Get Right but slowed down a bit. Well, a sample from Stacy Murdock’s As We Lay. They sample was wasted. I don’t feel like being held right at this point and time. After hearing the song Cherrie Pie I will ban that food from my diet. It is no longer welcomed.
During He’ll Be Back I realized that I might not be. This album is just as sad as the one before. I’m not sensing improvement but instead a stuck in limbo feeling. Not sure where this will bring us for the next album but I’m not having a good feeling. If she keeps this up no one will be back. She has a song (Can’t Believe) This Is Me; I feel her disbelief. I can’t believe this is me listening to this dang album. Once I heard Fabolous on the album I realized that I’ve reached the end of my rope and the album.
1 blade and a WTF? goes to this.
Wow… There is always at least one song on there that I can picture someone else singing so it saves the album but I don’t think that will help for the next time. The whole nasal singing is driving me up the walls. At first they were trying to have her whisper but then abandoned that whole concept and just went with the nasal. I guess that’s the happening thing for Spanish singers; I’ve realized that most sing through the nose. If that’s the thing run with it, but I can’t take it for too long and twelve tracks at an average of five minutes each is just too long.

Kicking off this new segment for Bootlegged Reviews is the song Ah, Yeah! submitted by the indie artist, Flawless. This pop/dance single that has what it takes to get a party started and has a professional feel that many Indie projects lack. Coming from Queens, New York, Flawless shines on this track. 2010 has been another year where the WOS Celebs have stepped their game up in the category of bullshit, hot mess, and sloppiness. Yesterday, two WOS young bloods were in battled in another Internet War of Words. Twitter has become the "safe zone" to attack folks behind a computer and have the fans directly involved. Instant bullshit brought to everyone's and anyone's computer screens - whether asked for it or not.
