Review: This artist was introduced to me on a fluke. I heard of her through a Twiddy (tweet by Puff Diddy) and found her debut album also. This album was amazing. A touch of Andre 3000′s spaciness, some of Erykah Badu’s brilliant crazy, with a twist of Sesame Street’s Pinball Countdown by the Pointer Sisters. This album is very Metropolis/Brave New World and that is where my head went after hearing the intro. “Many Moons” seems to have taken a sample from Sesame Street that had kids learn how to count through the adventures of a ball in a pinball machine. The original was sang by the Pointer Sisters and made counting to 12 fun!

The messages on this album will easily be deemed as ‘political’ and needs to be publicized. “Sincerely, Jane,” “Mr. President,” and her rendition of the Charlie Chapman’s “Smile,” originally sung and popularized by Nat King Cole. This albums is hot and gets 10 blades and an A.

Grab a listen: Sincerely, Jane
