Review: The 6th studio album for most industry legends doesn’t always bring power. This is not the case for Ms. Whitney Houston. After having a rocking moment in her career it’s good to root for her return to a better position. Houston’s latest album has been one of the long awaited comeback albums amongst all the comeback albums released and set to be released. With a delay or two the album is about to hit stores Germany August 28th, the US August 31st and the UK October 19th.

I was unsure how I would feel after the last album left me feeling luke warm, but from beginning to end Whitney had my full attention. I was hoping that while revamping Houston’s image again, the industry didn’t do a screw job and take things overboard. Glad they got it right this time. Each track allowed Whitney to show why she truly does have staying power. The mixed sounds of hip hop, pop, and r&b were alive and playing well together.

The title track I Look to You is a knock out and her rendition the classic Leon Russell’s A Song for You is a must hear. Akon guests on the Like I Never Left track with Whitney showing that she is one of the best collaborators in the business today. The question is can Whitney still claim the title “The Voice?” We’ll see as TBC will be at the morning show taping of GMA to see Whitney perform. Will we be disappointed in the live production or will the comeback celebration continue? We’ll find out soon enough.

9.5 blades for an amazing album.
