Album: In the Heights (2-disc)
Artist(s): Original Broadway Cast
Official/Original Drop Date: June 3, 2008
Grade: B-
Blade(s): 7.5
Bottom-line: Maybe worth watching the musical on Broadway
Review: After listening to this soundtrack (despite the original lead) I’m actually very excited to see this show. In the Heights chronicles the lives of various characters living in Washington Heights, NY and they are all from different parts of the world either by decent or birth. This should be no surprise for people who actually travel past their own neighborhoods and boroughs that Washington Heights has more than just folks from the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico living there. Unfortunately, being shut off in our own worlds can cause us to be comfortable with rumored existences of “the great beyond.”
Either way, the lives of the characters are altered through loss, riches, and the unknown. The story is not unique to the Heights but simply another version of the dreams people have and how some attempt to achieve them. I’m a bit eager to see Corbin Bleu take on the role of Usnavi, the lead, and see how he can shine past High School Musical (and before he leaves to film High School Musical 4).
Not sure how the upcoming movie based on the Broadway show will turn out but I’m a bit nervous since the original Usnavi (Lin-Manuel Miranda) will reprise his role. This album gets 7.5 blades and. B- for a good story, nice songs (not fond of them all) and nice imagery.

This pop/dance single that has what it takes to get a party started and has a professional feel that many Indie projects lack. Coming from Queens, New York, Flawless shines on this track. 2010 has been another year where the WOS Celebs have stepped their game up in the category of bullshit, hot mess, and sloppiness. Instant bullshit brought to everyone's and anyone's computer screens - whether asked for it or not.
