Review: Taylor Swift’s sophomore album has taken country by storm. Who would have thought that Country artists have battles of who’s “real” Country and who’s not. Sounds like the industry wanted folks to believe that this type of conversation only happened with Hip Hop and Rap artists. Well I know I remember this fight going on between Rock ‘n Rollers from yester-year and the Doo Wop turned R&B clan had their “beefs” too. So now it’s time for Country to take the Bullshit Battle spotlight.

Anyhoo, Swift does what most artists forget to do or are incapable of doing – she speaks from her own experiences. No speaking of being some sexpot that all the boys want (even though she may have her following for that purpose). No talking about her pay-grade or lack thereof, or being a gangsta lover of Country. She sings as a teen going through shit that seems plausible for a teen.

The album sounds like Country bubble gum, but I can actually give her credit for doing her thing on the album. Sounds like the Country whining that most of those singers do, but not in an annoying way. Fifteen, White Horse, You Belong with Me, Your Not Sorry, The Way I Loved You, Always and Forever, are at the top list for me (not discrediting the others).

7.5 blades for Swift being Fearless in the W.O.S.
