Review: With all the hype and show appearances given to the over-the-top idol hack the actual winner, Kris Allen, seems to be getting treated like the runner-up. This is no surprise as Idol usually drops the ball in promotion and support for artists they don’t know how to pimp. I was reluctant to hear this album because I have been disappointed by recent Idol “winners” and there didn’t seem to be a reason why I should continue the bad streak. However, Allen’s second album, Kris Allen, was worth listening to.
I’m glad that I took the chance on this kid. He actually has a good on record. Not sure how he does live, but I think it would be difficult to be as bad as Lambert. The tracks that stood out were Before We Come Undone, Bring It Back, Let It Rain, and I Need To Know. His rendition of Heartless was alright but slightly weirded me out. 5 blades and a C for this project.
