A Trip Down Memory Lane with Jordan Knight

Album: Jordan Knight Performs New Kids on the Block: The Remix Album

Artist(s): Jordan Knight

Official Drop Date: March 30, 2004

Review: When I heard that there was an album with Jordan Knight singing all the hits of the New Kids I almost fell out. This all hit me after his first appearance on the third season of “The Surreal Life,” a Celebriality show that was on VH1. He seemed distant and not the New Kid most fans would recognize. Either way time passed on and he reappeared on another season of that show and a two British shows: “Hit Me baby One More Time” and “Trust Me – I’m A Holiday Rep.” He seemed more relaxed in front of the cameras.

Being a NKOTB admirer I would have listened to this album regardless just out of curiosity and I’m glad I did. Knight was actually pretty good on the tracks that I was unsure of at first. He nailed Please Don’t Go (Girl) & revived Hangin’ Tough – a song that was never a favorite of mine. Knight made good on his promise of a remix as all the songs were not only revamped, but the lyrics were tweaked as well. This all worked out better than expected.

Songs worth revisiting were Hangin’ Tough, I’ll Be Loving You (Forever), Please Don’t Go (Girl), If You Go Away, Let’s Try It Again, & This One’s For the Children. Then entire album is a winner so die hard Blockheads won’t be disappointed going down memory lane with Knight. 9.5 blades for a trip I won’t forget.
